I really liked this movie. A great followup to the series.  The animation and plot were very well done.  As well as some new demon powers from the antagonists; kept things very interesting I also liked the addition of the Flame Hasira Kyōjurō’s past. Nezuko and the others weren’t really focused on too much.  I’d say it was more about Tanjiro’s and Kyōjurō’s backstories.  After seeing their past lives and how it motivated them; you really see how it became the source of their strength and character.

The fight scenes in this sequel are what you would expect from the animators at Ufotable.  Like the entire franchise, they are presented spectacularly.  It was really weird seeing the mage’s servants corrupted so easily by the dark entity known as the Shadow. My favorite parts include the historical revelation of the three prominent families of mages from which the main characters descend from.  As well as the Zouken Matou’s purpose for Sakura.  This last movie concluded everything nicely with some memorable poignant moments as well.

This anime’s got an interesting premise.  The plot consists of cursed spirits with supernatural powers running amok; causing all kinds of problems on a large scale.  Many of them involve inexplicable murders.  The Jujutsu sorcerers are paranormal investigators, each with their own special techniques which are even quirky at times.  The experienced ones pull off some very cool fight scenes.  The inner struggle between the protagonist Yuji and his inner demon is a constant struggle for the young Jujutsu sorcerer as he learns to perfect his cursed techniques.

We finally get a chance to learn about all those Titans invading the island of Paradis. As well as the well needed explanation of who they are and why they are on their murderous rampage. Their life in the country of Marley is night and day to how life was depicted in Paradis. It was interesting seeing them as people with backstories instead of monsters. Eren just gets even more powerful in this season, no doubt to prepare for his retribution. I particularly enjoyed seeing how they explained a lot of the mythology of the Titans. Overall the season got off on a strong start, and I’m sure this finale is going to be phenomenal.

Dorohedoro has an insane storyline. Just looking at the atmosphere and the way action takes place; it’s sort of like a mix of sci-fi and fantasy.  And I really like the art design, which kind of reminded me of an older anime style.  It’s really kind of a mixture of old and new animation.  Since a lot of my anime collection is from the early 90s, I enjoyed the nostalgia. In their world there’s the human civilization and then there is a sorcerer’s realm.  There’s not too much explanation as far as parallel dimensions or what have you.  And there’s even a hell which is kind of presented in odd and comical ways.  The end result is just a mind-bending trip into a lot of strange places. The protagonists, Caiman and Nikaido, are an interesting pair, but it does work.  They do have a genuine bond between them.  Overall I would describe it as a fun and quirky anime; you’ll like it too especially if you’re into sci-fi/fantasy elements.

If it’s anything related to SAO sign me up! The final season of this anime just keeps getting better. Anime about MMOs isn’t anything new, but I like the different directions and concepts this anime introduced. In particular the AI, In this season the world has news coverage of Alice, the first AI that is indistinguishable from humans. Kirito’s been going through a lot of traumatic events, but he never disappoints, and he manages to persevere. One of the main reasons people love this anime is because of the strong character bonds. Fluctlight technology and the evolved AI of the Underworld blur the lines between the real world and the virtual one. I was very satisfied with how this anime ended and based on some hints in the last episode, there will be more SAO anime on the way!

The first inspector arc is split into three episodes. It’s sort of a follow-up to season 3. This movie introduces a separate organization working outside the Sibyl System called the Bifrost organization, with its own inspectors. The title of the movie alludes to the antagonist, who happens to be the first inspector of the Bifrost organization. Most viewers would agree that this dystopian society that depends on the Sibyl System has major flaws; by presenting the Bifrost organization;  it serves as a clear reminder of those flaws for the anime’s characters. There’s still a lot of mystery with inspector Arata’s backstory. But this movie does go over Kei’s history a lot more and the relationship between them as well. It was also really cool to see the old Unit One team together again in the Public Safety Bureau.

Season 2 is just as good and if not better than season 1. You still got no explanation of what’s really going on in Subaru’s real world life, but it doesn’t matter as far as this anime is concerned. Subaru is in a little more control of the return by death power. Almost to the point where he can confidently alter changes in the timeline without relying on it. A lot of Emilia’s history is explained. You also learn a lot about the spirit Puck. It’s a sad backstory and contract between them. The origins of the witch cultists are also explained, which ties into Emilia’s tragic backstory. Some of the anime’s mythos involving the witches and the creation of the world are revealed as well. Season 2 was very good, and I can’t wait for the next season!

Totsuki’s culinary students are going about their usual studies as aspiring chefs. This season started out with them competing for beach goers. Each Elite student at the culinary school has specific skills and tools that they use which set them apart from the novices, and you see them in each of the challenges that the characters go through. The main focus of the season is the Blue competition. Soma has a lot to prove in this final season as he vies for Erina’s love and recognition by his father as well as the Totsuki culinary academy. The Book Master, who is gifted with the God Tongue attribute overseas the competition and will decide the winner as well. Season 5 has the same elements you see in previous seasons but starts to reveal a little more about the main character’s backstory. Everything kind of ties together with a satisfactory conclusion in this finale.

I love cooking, photography and travelling to interesting places! In my free time I am planning to see as much of the US as I can and internationally too. When I'm not busy I also enjoy going to concerts, watching anime and playing videogames.

  1. Mugen train was one of my recent favs 👍 Did you know there was a real Mugen train that was decorated as a replica from the film during the release of this anime. Fans could ride the 100 year old train from Tokyo to Gunma prefecture!

    1. My wife and I would love to go sightseeing there one day

  2. Oh man… Shokugeki no Soma is one of those animes you either love or hate.

    1. It was a watchable anime, especially if you’re into cooking. I liked the finale.
