Directions
Add 1/2 oz. of rum
Add 1/2 oz. coconut-flavored white rum
Add 1 oz. Blue Curaçao
Add 3 oz. pineapple soda or pineapple juice
Mix everything well in drinking glass

Using a small sized skewer; take pineapple chunks and maraschino cherries and skewer them. Alternate between each pineapple chunk and cherry or arrange to your liking.
My favorite cocktail during our Bangkok honeymoon was a blue Hawaiian on a river dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River. It's made with rum and vodka, but the mixer usually has tropical flavors. For a deep blue clear appearance, clear pineapple soda is best. But something like Dole's pineapple juice will give you more real fruit flavor. The color also becomes more of a turquoise or teal. I used a coconut-flavored rum for a pineapple coconut flavored Blue Hawaiian.
For a fruity side, I made some pineapple cherry skewers using some canned fruit to have while drinking the Blue Hawaiian. The skewers are really easy to prepare; I used a can of pineapple chunks and a jar of maraschino cherries. It goes well with the tropical flavors in the drink and adds a sweet tartness from the maraschino cherries. I use about 1/2 an ounce of rum and vodka each, so there's not too much alcohol content in the cocktail. Perfect for a relaxing sunny afternoon or even with some friends!
